ABOUT US
Our Mission
Hoofbeats in the City is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organization whose mission is to preserve, advocate for, and teach the equestrian lifestyle in Los Angeles County. At Hoofbeats in the City, we believe that horses and horsemanship offer powerful opportunities for education, connection, and personal growth. Our mission is carried out by a dedicated board of seven volunteer members through a range of key initiatives centered on Education and Preservation.

Our Initiatives
Bridging Urban Life with Horse-Powered Dreams

Education
Empowering Urban Youth One Ride at a Time
Through programs like our signature Horsemanship 101 Youth Program, we aim to make equestrian education accessible to urban youth. We also offer scholarships for horse camps, riding instruction, and facilitated equine experiences, in order to empower individuals to experience and learn about the equestrian lifestyle.
Preservation
Championing Equestrian Heritage in Los Angeles County
We are deeply concerned about the loss of the equestrian culture & lifestyle in urban areas. Our initiatives strive to ensure these traditions continue to thrive for future generations. We champion policies and land use initiatives that protect and expand equestrian centers, trail access, open recreational spaces, and the rural character of our region.
We aim to bridge the gap between urban life and the equestrian world, fostering a connection with nature and horses. We strive to create opportunities for individuals to experience and appreciate the joy and benefits of the equestrian lifestyle.
